Minimum requirements for the role:
300 - 450 000 PA depending on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Managing the full bookkeeping function up to management accounts
- Bookkeeping to Trial balance
- Compiling monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, GL reconciliations, VAT returns, debtors, creditors, SARS efiling, VAT recons, VAT201 submission, EMP201 submissions, EMP501 submissions, OTP pins for Forex payments
- Capturing of operating journals
- CD and HP journals
- Banking and banking reconciliations
- Payment allocations
- Intercompany loan accounts
- Manage suspense account
- Petty cash management
- Ad-hoc creditor payments
- Overseeing that invoicing from transport and shipping charges is correct, etc. Knowledge of import export advantageous
- Overseeing month-end and year-end reconciliations
- Prepare monthly month-end management accounts, quarterly & annual financial statements within the internal deadlines.
- Cash flow projections and budgets
- Assisting with debtor reconciliations and debt collection, maintain creditors
- Attending weekly meetings with the Director regarding Forex in order to put bids out
- Preparing all payment schedules for the Director to release
- Assisting with budgets and sales - will produce forecasts of stock to order
- Loading provisional payments to SARS
- Assisting with VAT and Customs Audit
- Ensuring that both internal and external audits are planned and executed properly
- Ensure that all related tax and statutory affairs are in order including but not limited to ensuring that VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, Income Tax and Dividend tax
- Ensure that all tax submissions are done on time and accurately
- Manage all VAT, PAYE and sundry returns. Oversee payroll administration as well as workman's comp
- Capturing shipment dates, payments and preparing import files
- Maintaining export documents and files
- Maintaining import documents and files
- Must be able to work out freight cost percentages in relation to cost of goods
- Compiling management reports and capturing cash books
- Allocate and process Bank statement transactions
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts
- Compiling all the invoices for suppliers as well as the purchases and payments of Forex based on stock arrival date.
- Forex payments to overseas suppliers
- Stock control, month end, year end
- Process journal entries and complete general ledger
- Ensures compliance with applicable accounting and corporate policies
- Implement and ensure adherence to internal control processes
- Ensure that the quality and integrity of financial and management reporting is maintained
- Prepare management reporting daily/weekly/monthly
- Strategic plans, budgets and financial forecasts
- Ensure that each company fiscal records, signed financials, financial plans and policies, accounting practices, communication and relationships with internal and external institutions are properly documented and filed
- Implementing infrastructure systems and administration systems, compile and analyse financial information
- Implementation of administration systems and financial controls
- Ensure reporting and effective communication is done accurately
- Manage pricing structures and GP percentages
- Be actively involved in weekly, monthly stock takes. Implement stock take procedures, stock control and accurate stock forecasting procedures
- Oversee staff contracts, must have knowledge of labour law
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have FMCG Retail background
- Must understand stock and stock forecasting
- BComm Finance or Accounting Degree (BComPT) or related qualification or previous experience having worked as an Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper is essential.
- To be considered for this excellent opportunity you will need to have previous experience having worked in an Accounting role of at least 5 + years.
- Previous experience having worked on palladium is beneficial.
- Previous Nedbank business online banking experience preferable.
- Previous working experience balancing stock and stock forward projection is essential
- Excellent communication, reporting and interpersonal skills, verbal and written essential
- It goes without saying that you will be highly numerate, have strong financial awareness, and be able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Mathematical skills must be above average
- Exel skills must be advanced
- Must have sound computer skills (excel critical).
- Strong team player
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and financial principles
- Working independently and follow instructions without close supervision
- Demonstrate ability to meet demands of internal and external stakeholders
- Previous import and export experience necessary
