Introduction
The institute has a job opening for a Accounts Receivable Team Lead within our Finance department. Main responsibilities include financial reporting, interpretation of financial information and advising on further action. Overseeing the company's customer onboarding, debt collection process and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts. The role will involve leading a debtors team, debt collecting, analyzing customer credit profiles, and implementing strategies to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow. Additionally, the role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with clients and implementing effective credit control policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information.
Reporting to management and stakeholders, as well as providing advice on best route of action.
Ensure that the institution's cash flow is maximised through debt collection and minimisation of risk.
Producing financial reports related to budgets, account receivables, revenue and cashflow etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

Systems, Policies and Procedures:
- Ensure that the credit and billing policies are developed for approval, communicated to operational divisions and adhered to.
- Ability to understand integration on various platforms and continuous refinement relating to processes involving finance personnel.
- Maintain Debtors database by setting up term codes, removing inactive customers, updating customer contact details, ensuring uniformity in customer naming conventions, linking customer accounts to respective groups and confirming accuracy of beneficiary banking details.
- Work closely with other departments to reassess processes affecting the finance department in a changing environment.
Account Management:
- Managing age analysis of active accounts.
- Monitor Customer performance against terms while optimising customer experience.
- Provide cash flow projections.
- Focus on the reduction of aged debt.
- Overseeing Legal Handover to Lawyers.
- Monitor and analyse market trends and industry best practices to optimize day to day customer management and debt collection strategies.
- Maintain all company debit orders in line with company processes
Billing:
- Facilitating customer debit order process and reporting thereon.
- Facilitating monthly statement run and oversee communication process with Debtors Clerks.
- Authorise credit notes and investigate all operational losses.
Reporting:
- Monthly credit management report.
- Managing Cash flow monitoring, including annual and seasonal forecasting.
- Generate reports for management, highlighting key metrics, areas of concern, and recommendations for improvement.
- Ad-hoc as required.
General Management:
- Overseeing and leading Debtors Clerks.
- Continuously look for areas to adopt integrations and automation.
- Maintain all group products, research viability of new products and nonperforming products and ensuring system alignment
- Maintain model to benchmark all group products.
Developing staff and training subordinates with regards to best practices.

Application Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in customer management, credit control, debt collection or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of credit management principles, debt collection laws, and regulations.
- 3-5 years experience in the industry.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience on Oracle Netsuite will be beneficial
