Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Treasury Finance professional to join the team as senior subject matter expert with responsibility to develop and deliver the key Treasury support activities of Interest Rate Risk Measurement & Reporting, and Liquidity Risk Reporting.
In this role you will have a team of seven highly competent and engaged individuals, to support you to manage these functions on an ongoing basis.
Reporting to the Head of Treasury Finance, this is a critical leadership role within Treasury Finance, and you will share responsibility to develop a best-in-class service culture across the team.
You will develop key relationships with WNZL Treasury and Market Risk teams and your colleagues in the wider Finance community, including Financial and Regulatory Reporting, Group Management reporting & Line 1 Op Risk. Other teams include Enterprise Technology Services, and you will also deal regularly with key parent bank colleagues in Treasury Finance and some involvement with our Regulator from time to time.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- Extensive experience in Treasury Finance environment covering hedging instruments (derivatives) and Treasury and Financial Markets products, possibly from a Market Risk background.
- Preferably knowledge of Liquidity regulations particularly with BS13 or APS210
- Knowledge of Risk measurement, monitoring, and control functions, e.g. VaR, Stress testing, Forward Accrual
- Ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex issues to management in a time efficient/sensitive way
- Strong understanding of the wider macro-economic environment and the impacts this has on Westpac as well as competitors and performance.
- Relevant experience in Model Risk and ability to interrogate and support with enhancements.
- Ability to run scenario analysis / sensitivities around strategic decisions to inform management around the financial risks of each decision.
- CA, CPA or CFA qualified
