Are you a proactive, detail-oriented individual looking for a dynamic opportunity to grow your career in finance? Metric is a high-growth, private equity-backed global recruitment business. We are seeking a highly organised Finance Assistant/Credit Controller to support our expanding Finance team.

In this role, you’ll be based in our Nottingham office but will provide essential support across all our global offices. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, forward-thinking company with plenty of room to develop your skills and progress your career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chase overdue invoices
  • Ensure debts are paid to terms
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity applying process at all times
  • Communicate regularly with the Finance Director to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable ledgers
  • Cash posting
  • Reconcile expenses and complete regular cash flow reports
  • Process invoices and perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with other key account reconciliations
  • Support the Finance team with ad hoc tasks and reporting to drive the achievement of business goals


What We’re Looking For
  • Currently studying AAT, ACCA, or CIMA
  • 1+ years’ experience in finance or credit control
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance or an equivalent qualification is preferred
  • Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively at all levels
  • A motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment


Working Hours
  • 37 hours per week:
  • Monday to Thursday 9:00-17:30, and Friday 9:00-17:00


Please note this role is fully office-based in Nottingham city centre
