About the Role (Your Why)
The accountant will oversee, prepare, and maintain financial data and reports in line with best practices. They will support the financial control and accounting team by monitoring transactions, resolving queries and assisting with analysis.
Please be aware that there are two available positions, each offered as a 6-month fixed-term period.
What You'll Do
As an Accountant, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Record-2-Report activities.
- Assisting in the generation of general ledger transactions and subsequent related adjustments.
- Supporting the preparation of financial analysis and reports from a profit and loss and balance sheet perspective, while also handling monthly activities including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting the analysis and review of financial information of discrepancies and variances.
- Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures including initiating any actions to reduce write offs and improve efficiencies.
- Supporting the preparation of accounting records and financial reports as per Datacom standards, while ensuring all accounting tasks are completed within the set timeframe and addressing any issues as they arise.
- Liaising with the broader team to ensure that all reporting standards are appropriately embedded into relevant finance processes, while also performing other accounting duties and supporting the team as required or assigned.
What You'll Bring
As an Accountant, you will be expected to demonstrate:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related discipline with 3-5 years of general accounting or audit experience.
- Detailed knowledge of general accounting systems, processes and practices.
- Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial outputs.
- Strong system skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise resource planning software (ERP).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with people at any level in the organisation, and previous experience influencing different stakeholders through challenging situations.
