Are you a Senior Tax Analyst or Tax Manager with technical GST tax skills, open to a contract opportunity? Our Banking and Financial Services Tax team has a strong reputation as a leader and innovator in its area of expertise.
As a contractor for 6-12 months, you will report into the Taxation Information Officer, providing detailed analysis and advice on a broad range of banking GST issues to a range of internal senior stakeholders in the business and operations teams.
You will manage and implement important detailed GST review projects, over the next 6-12 months and get involved in industry lobbying to achieve regulatory change in line with business requirements. You will update and educate stakeholders on tax related changes and identify practical approaches on how to implement GST laws and regulations. You will liaise with the ATO and other third parties, as required.
Looking for ways to improve existing GST practices and processes, you will also maintain compliance with current regulations and policies. You will provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on technical GST concepts.
To be successful in this role, you will have a technical GST background. If you have experience working in financial services tax (in-house or at a Big 4 consulting firm), this will be highly regarded, but isn't essential.
You will have a demonstrated interest in finance, investment and superannuation. You will have a degree in accounting/commerce, business, finance or law (or equivalent), and have completed (or nearly completed) a relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CA, CPA or Masters of Tax).
You will have attention to detail, self-motivation to work unsupervised, the ability to grasp new concepts quickly, excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
If this sounds like you, we'd love you to apply now.
