We have recently won a number of prestigious projects in the North West and are looking to hire an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to be part of our growth journey. Along with a salary of up to £70,000 per annum, you will also receive a bonus, car allowance, mileage rate and a succession plan with opportunity to become the company commercial lead.

Pops Facades specialise in the design, installation and maintenance of all types of Curtain walling, Cladding and Glazing systems from unitised to more bespoke complex faade systems.

The Role:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to ensure that all commercial aspects of tendering through to delivery of the projects are properly managed and controlled, and that commercial strategy is developed and delivered in accordance with the objectives of the business. The role is based in our Widnes office and required to visit Customer offices/ projects on site as required.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Quantity Surveyor:

Tendering and Project Accounting

• Full responsibility for the tendering and commercial administration for the Company
• Commercial and contractual review of tenders, propose amendments and negotiate to a satisfactory conclusion that mitigates the risks to an acceptable level
• Commercial and contract administration of projects

Reporting

• Complete monthly review of contract results and performance
• Manage costs to complete and CVRs on a on selected projects

Valuation and cash collection

• Ensure all monthly claims are submitted on time and credit control
• Deal with claims preparation, final account negotiation and settlement

Improvement and governance

• Develop the underlying commercial, project accounting and credit control systems.
• Continuous improvement

General

• Quality assurance, administration and accreditations

Key measures & targets:

• Tendering success Win/ lose %, margin projection, backlog sales
• Cash Collection/days sales outstanding (DSO), cash in bank
• Contract administration/Margin/Management of business risks

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Essential

• Degree qualified, or equivalent and experienced in a similar role
• Customer centric can-do attitude and able to solve problems efficiently
• Strong contractual experience with knowledge of a wide range of contract conditions
• Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant software
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
• Ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload and meet project deadlines

Desirable

• Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards
