Reference: PMB001054-SN-1Accountant (Live-in position) - Greater MidlandsOur client in the greater midlands area is seeking an experienced Accountant with ±5 years' experience who will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:

Books to trial balance which will include the necessary journals and preparation of monthly management accounts
Responsible for the debtors and creditor's function including discounts and debt collecting
Assist and monitor VAT implications on sales received
Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
Daily/monthly bank reconciliations and periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Maintain the petty cash fund
Provide all info to the external accountant who creates the company's financial statements
Assist auditors during year-end audits
Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements
Maintain the chart of accounts and annual budgets
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management on a P&L monthly
Comply with statutory government reporting requirements
Analyse financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital
Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position
Audits contracts, orders, vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement
May direct and coordinate activities of other clerical workers performing accounting and bookkeeping tasks

Requirements

Relevant Accounting Degree
Sage Pastel experience essential
Accounting firm background (Advantageous)
