We are seeking a Financial Accountant to oversee accounts payable operations and support treasury, supplier payments, and high-volume working capital management. The successful candidate will take ownership of the role, drive process improvements, and ensure reliability across finance functions.

You will gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, global company, with mentorship from our Financial Controller and direct reporting to our Finance Director. Key tasks include, but not limited to:

Invoice & Payment Management
  • Verify and enter invoices accurately into the accounting system.
  • Schedule and execute payments on time, using various payment methods.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions with bank statements and ensure timely client/host payouts.


Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Oversee month-end close and maintain accurate accounts payable reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and legal requirements.


Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements and assist in developing AP policies and procedures.


Cash Flow & Forecasting
  • Manage cash flow and currency holdings, and assist in preparing cash flow forecasts.


Risk Management
  • Suggest and monitor fraud prevention processes and assess payment-related risks.


Collaboration
  • Coordinate with the finance team and other departments, participate in projects affecting AP, and provide support for payment issues and reporting.

Requirements
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting (or a 2-3 year diploma with relevant experience).
  • Part-qualified in CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent, with completed articles (3 years preferred).
  • Proficient in Xero (preferred, not essential).
  • A proactive, go-getter attitude with the ability to take ownership of the role.
  • Must be available to work in Cape Town 1-2 times a week.
