POSITION

The Stewardship Analyst at Allspring Global Investments is a unique opportunity to join our world-class sustainability team and contribute to our exceptional stewardship activities. As a Stewardship Analyst, you will collaborate with the Head of Stewardship and the broader Sustainability team to support proxy voting and ESG engagements with corporate issuers. This role provides exposure to a variety of investment experts and business functions across Allspring, allowing you to develop skills and knowledge in corporate governance, sustainability, and finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducting due diligence ahead of each engagement by gathering and analyzing external and internal ESG research, identifying material ESG issues, and setting a salient agenda with investee companies.
• Supporting the planning and execution of our annual engagement strategy, ensuring a strong focus on engagement activities while managing competing priorities related to new and ongoing ESG themes and incoming requests from companies.
• Fulfilling requests for information from institutional clients and investment consultants.
• Contributing to Allspring Stewardship Reports, including UK Stewardship and Allspring's Global Annual Report.
• Contributing to thought leadership on stewardship and sustainability

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Undergraduate degree or coursework in finance, economics, business, policy, or equivalent experience is acceptable.
• Strong interest or direct experience in corporate governance matters.
• Strong interest in sustainable/ESG investing or sustainability issues such as climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), human rights, biodiversity, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 5 years of experience in stewardship (ESG engagement and/or proxy).
• Based in London (with an expectation to be in the office 3 days a week)
