The Opportunity

As a Finance Manager at Vance, you'll take ownership of a multifaceted financial landscape in a startup environment. You won't just be crunching numbers; you'll be an instrumental part of our growth, helping us navigate through rapid expansions and complex financial challenges.

What You'll Own

  • Strategic Finance: Create robust financial models and perform scenario analyses to inform Vance's long-term growth strategy. Your financial acumen will guide key business decisions.
  • Controller Functions: Oversee day-to-day accounting, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. You are the guardian of our financial integrity.
  • Business Finance: Analyze key performance indicators and financial metrics to provide actionable insights that align capital and resource allocation within our budget.
  • Investor Relations: Develop financial presentations and reports for the Board, stakeholders, and potential investors. Lead efforts in financial due diligence and negotiations during fundraising.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate financial risks and market conditions, and formulate strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
  • M&A Activities: Act as the financial lead in evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions. You will conduct due diligence and manage the entire financial aspect of M&A initiatives.
  • Product Support: Collaborate with product teams to develop the financial logic and pricing strategies for new products.
  • Audit & Compliance: Manage internal and external audits, ensuring financial practices are compliant with regulations. Facilitate timely completion of all audits.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Direct budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analyses. Your oversight will help maintain financial discipline across the organisation.

What We Need

  • CA qualification with 5-7 years of experience, preferably in a fast-growing startup.
  • Proficient in financial modelling & cash flow analysis.
  • Strong ability to collaborate, problem-solve, and work across multiple teams.
  • A keen understanding of business and commerce.
  • A data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all financial activities.
  • Willingness to operate at a high level of intensity to keep up with our fast-growing business.

Good-to-Have

  • CPA certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience in a startup operating in multiple countries is desirable.
  • Prior experience with Big 4 accounting firms is highly regarded.
  • Experience in treasury functions or forex management would be beneficial.
