Role purpose:
This is a people leadership role, reporting into the Director of Commercial Controllership. This role works with the Sales & Accounts Management leaders, divisional CFOs, Order Management, Billing, Collections and Centre of Excellence team to ensure best in class revenue accounting and assurance practices to enable accurate and robust revenue accounting ($6bn revenue) for D&A division. The role also leads efforts to improve upstream and downstream finance processes (e.g. ECL, debt provisioning and Embedded derivative) and ensuring enhancing data accuracy, compliance with LSEG policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
Integrity
- Assist in reviewing customer arrangements to resolve proper revenue recognition in accordance with LSEG policy.
- Review and approve revenue treatment, and accounting documentation
- Leads technical accounting research to accurately account for and to report significant and complex transactions.
- Attests to the adaptability of sub-divisional / regional or functional reporting processes and financial controls and may support Group consolidation.
- Coordination and control of the monthly Sales and Revenue close, in full compliance with internal and external reporting standards and policies.
- Drives the audits process and provide opinions on the key matters/judgmental items.
- Performs Revenue related financial controls, review Balance sheet reconciliations and supports Group consolidation.
Partnership
- Partner with key internal customers, including Sales & Accounts Management, Performance & Insight team, business Finance, Billing, collection and Finance controllership to assist internally in the structuring of contracts to support revenue recognition objectives, ensuring full clarity of monthly revenue performance and corrective action processes in revenue accounting
- Working with controllership and auditors on acceptance of the revenue dispositions.
Excellence
- Delivering complex solutions which can include but are not limited to:
- Ground-breaking process change and cost optimization
- Enabling technology / digital implementations like automation through MS tools like Power BI, Power Automate, etc. and others
- release time and people from transactional work to perform value adding activities whilst maintaining an optimized control environment.
- Drives decisions to standardize processes.
- Ensures adequate and timely root cause analysis to identify problem drivers and implementation of necessary corrections and/or changes.
- Mentor/Coach and develop new joiners.
Change
- Serve as change agent by influencing, communicating, and institutionalizing a culture of simplification and standardization in the area of revenue assurance
- Evaluate and evolve systems, policies, processes and workflow, ensuring full engagement with relevant partners and motivating change and adoption.
- Lead and innovate improvement in execution roadmap within D&A Finance stream which primarily includes O2C and R2R processes.
- Leads integration of newly acquired entities with key focus on integration of finance process, finance system, finance people and compliance within the LSEG environment
- Actively participates in the development and continuous improvement of global process and technology through documentation, training, testing, and controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent) OR MBA Finance from the best-in-class institute
- A minimum of 12 years work experience with some related work experience in controllership and revenue assurance & revenue recognition
- Experience with revenue recognition accounting,
- IFRS 15 and IFRS 9 exposure is required.
- Strong analytical, organizational and project managements abilities
- Consistent track record of developing teams and talent
- Extensive experience in financial control.
- Subject matter expertise with strong understanding of finance processes (O2C, R2R) and systems
- Finance transformation experience
Knowledge And Skills
- Knowledge of IFRS principle
- Digital first mindset, exposure to Power BI tools, confirmed experience in automating, simplifying and streamline complex finance processes
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
