Accounts Assistant, Family Friendly Accountancy Practice, c15 hrs/wk, Tring, c£14 p/hr
Do you have experience of working in a fast paced finance role, with a methodical approach and high attention to detail? This is a newly created Accounts Assistant role in a family friendly accountancy practice offering part-time hours.
Our Client
Our client is a small family friendly practice in Tring established 25 years ago. As a result of business growth, they are seeking a new member of the team to work on one of their clients, working alongside two other staff members.
Whilst the Accounts Assistant role asks for 15 hours per week, there may be scope to take on additional hours to support with other client work if the successful candidate has capacity.

The Role
The role requires a technically strong Accounts Assistant who has experience of managing volume transactions.initially working on one client, with two other members of staff, the role responsibilities include:
- Main responsibility will be for the clients aged payables
- Involves extensive supplier statement reconciliation across multiple locations
- Credit and batch payment allocations
- Weekly importing of purchase invoice data from client system into Xero involves knowledge of csv files
- Wider bookkeeping skills are helpful as there may be the requirement to support on other client work
The Person
- Good knowledge of the principles of accounting, particularly in the area of supplier payments
- Initiative and good communication skills as the role involves liaising with suppliers
- Experience of handling volume transactions and working at pace methodically
- Good excel knowledge
- Ability to navigate around Xero accounting software (or similar)
Terms
- Hours; 15 hours per week (3 days x 5 hours). Ideally these will be spread across the week, for example Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or Monday, Tuesday and Thursday pattern.
- Whilst this role focuses on one particular client, there may be scope for the candidate to work additional hours on other clients should they wish to do this and if the work is available. Please indicate on application.
- The role is office based in Tring, with free parking.
Salary:
c£14 per hour (dependent on experience).- Holiday allowance: 20 days plus 8 bank holidays (pro-rated down for part-time hours)
