Job Purpose

As an Assistant Financial Accountant at Recordati, you will support the Financial Accountant in providing comprehensive support to the global financial function in order to help drive business decisions. You will assist in managing the month end financial close of business for Sales, Purchases and other OPEX and with the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance of balance sheet and P&L for entity of responsibility. You will also provide support to the Finance Manager and Director as required, making this role an exciting opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accounts receivable (AR): Process and send customer payments and statements, reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for accurately, and calculate and post AR bad debt provisions at month end and analysing aged customer balances.
  • Bank postings and reconciliations: Ensure that these are kept up to date and reconciled monthly to meet month-end timelines.
  • Balance sheet accounts: Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of these accounts including intercompany, fixed assets, prepayments, payroll, and accruals.
  • Reporting: Ensure the completion of monthly and quarterly reporting requirements to group finance within the timelines.
  • Financial Control: Regular review of processes and controls to ensure a strong control environment, ensure the period close deadlines for users in Navision is met, and ensure an efficient and effective system of internal controls to maintain compliance with anti-corruption/anti-bribery laws and regulation, Recordati's policies and procedures and any other relevant laws and regulations.

Required Education

  • Part Qualified Accountant
  • Further Qualification or Degree in a related discipline would be preferred, but not essential.

Required Skills And Experience

  • At least 3-5 years accounting experience
  • Worked or have understanding of Accounts receivable/Accounts payable duties
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Numerate and analytical

Technical Competencies

  • Good basic accounting knowledge
  • Experience would be desirable in any of the following: SAP 4 Hana, Navision, PrecisionPoint, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • IT literate with an intermediate level of Excel skills
