Within our Head Office, based in Chipping Sodbury, we are looking for a Finance Assistant to be part of a small team, that makes a big difference. You will be joining a thriving and established General Ledger team, where quality and teamwork is at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with the business, to provide support, find solutions, and support the Supervisor with the successful management of the accounts.

The Finance Assistant role

You will be key to assisting with the timely and accurate preparation of the management and statutory accounts, including, but not exclusive:
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Costing and reconciling expenses
  • Regularly updating the cashbook, inputting sundry payments and cash receipts, ensuring accuracy and detail
  • Completing variance analysis of cost compared to forecast and budget
  • Producing P&L schedules
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and conducting fixed asset audits
  • Processing quarterly VAT returns
  • Costing consolidated and property related invoices, and taking ownership of approval
  • Consolidating quarterly stock take returns, and where required, having a keen eye to investigating variances to system balances
  • Generate and analyse financial reports
  • Additional finance support responsibilities, including supporting the annual audit

What will you bring:
  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant role is essential
  • You take pride in delivering a professional service, with a “what’s the solution” attitude
  • Communicating effectively, is important to you, building relationships with internal and external customers, you’re an “out and out” team player
  • Confident in using MS packages, specifically proficient in Excel
