Dyson is navigating a rapidly evolving Environmental, Social and Governance compliance and reporting landscape. The Senior Sustainability Manager works alongside the Product ESG Controller in delivery of ESG product related information and documented methodologies for inclusion in the company’s financial reporting.

The Senior Sustainability Manager - Product will report into the ESG Controller for Product.

Responsibilities - Work alongside the ESG Controller for Product to provide the following to the Corporate Sustainability and Reporting team and the wider business:

ESG Product Data and Evidence for Corporate Sustainability Reporting

Ensuring robust and auditable product data is provided for enterprise-level sustainability disclosures.

  • Supporting the ESG Controller for Product in defining appropriate product emissions methodologies across Dyson products
  • Coordinating and managing the preparation of Product data needed for compliant ESG disclosures in financial statements.
  • Documenting and implementing the processes, procedures and internal controls to gather Product ESG data in a manner that ensures consistency, reliability and accuracy.
  • Tracking all required data and ensuring it is gathered, verified and evidenced and that records and documentation related to this are kept and able to meet assurance requirements.
  • Key contact for product to ensure cross functional alignment of data collection methodology and where necessary, systems.
  • Compiling monthly/quarterly (as appropriate) data progress reports for the Executive team.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement with internal teams and supply chain partners.
  • Support ESG controller with external audit questions on Product related sustainability matters.


Support the business in determining future approach to ESG for Product

Utilising the approved methodology, calculate the current ‘State of Play’ across the Business Units.
  • Support the ESG Controller in advising Business Units and Dyson leadership team in understanding the current environmental impacts and emissions trajectory of a representative range of Dyson products.
  • Identify potential levers to reduce emissions and environmental impacts of products.
  • Develop appropriate target options and feasibility assessment for Product emissions targets as part of Dyson’s Climate Transition Plan.
  • Support functions to fulfil their ESG obligations, including via training.

Environmental and Social Risks and Impact

Regulatory requirements require Dyson to understand, report and mitigate environmental and social risks and opportunities. This role will work with Risk Champions to support collation of social and environmental risks and opportunities related to Dyson products.

Competencies
  • Systems-level thinking with a corporate, business or financial background.
  • Engineering or design experience in a strong product environment.
  • Analytical skills including familiarity with good practice in data collection.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience engaging with stakeholders of varied seniority.
  • Awareness of ESG matters and evolving regulatory landscape.
