Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to support our finance department. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role involves:
Key
Responsibilities:
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
* Assist with stock records and reports
* Input approved staff expenses
* Prepare weekly payment runs and ensure timely supplier payments
* Prepare data for EU and UK VAT returns
* Reconcile sales invoices and maintain the fixed asset register
* Conduct financial due diligence on new suppliers
* Review outstanding purchase orders for accrual purposes
* Manage prepayment schedules and product swap transactions
* Prepare accrual schedules and reconcile profit and loss and balance sheets
* Allocate posting of supplier and ancillary invoices
* Prepare weekly commercial reports and variance analysis
* Conduct financial analysis and assist in forecasting
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
* Support various administrative tasks as required
Experience and Skills:
* Previous experience as a Finance Assistant
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise and work independently
* Excellent communication skills and a team player
* Professional, persuasive, empathetic, and able to handle conflict
* Ability to work in a high-paced environment
* Proficient in database management, Excel (intermediate), Word, Sage accounts
* Ability to identify improvements and facilitate change
* Positive attitude towards acquiring new skills
Desirable:
Experience in a high-performing finance team
Experience with Sage 50, Navision, Excel, and Word
AAT Qualification

Ownership and responsibility for tasks
Logical problem-solving and complete accuracy in paperwork
