How You'll Make a Difference

You will make a difference as an Assistant Commissioning officer by being a key member of the Brokerage team, with the specific responsibility for procurement and commissioning a range of social care services appropriate for adults and young people in our community.

Ideal working week would be Monday, Thursday, Friday and then a half day either Tuesday or Wednesday.

What will you be doing?

  • Under the guidance of a Commissioning Manager, you will assist with ensuring effective packages of services meet pre-identified needs to help improve the provision of care and supportive of our residents living in South Gloucestershire.
  • You will be required to maintain and update information systems and databases. This includes carrying out research; collation of data and presenting information.
  • You will provide advice to customers, contacts, external organisations, and colleagues ensuring that they receive appropriate guidance about policies, procedures and processes whilst ensuring effective working relationships are maintained.
  • You will be responding to queries, complaints and requests from initial contact with the customer.
  • You will deliver a wide range of administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. This includes recording, monitoring and maintaining budgets and/financial information which help in decision making.

What We Need From You

  • You will have relevant knowledge and experience of working in an organisation that commissions and contracts in social care or similar services.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills, in establishing positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders’ contacts and customers.
  • You will require excellent written and numeracy skills with the ability to undertake effective research and being able to present findings in a clear and concise format
  • You will need be competent in the use of databases and be able to record accurate information on spreadsheets.
  • You will hold NVQ level 3 or equivalent
