Federal Accountant
Washington, DC/Hybrid
MUST:
Experienced Federal Accountant
7+ years of recent professional federal accounting experience
CPA background helpful/desired and in-depth knowledge of GAAP
Experienced Senior Accountant with strong project management abilities to advise and manage the accounting functions for various Federal clients
Government contracting experience is required
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently without direct supervision
Demonstrates problem solving skills
CGFM certification required
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field required
DUTIES:
Provide guidance and input to team members on deliverables, work products and client advisory support
Directly support clients in potential areas such as: management of the monthly close process including reviewing financials, analyzing, and posting journal entries, reviewing reconciliations, and project reports,
issue monthly and annual financials,
key accounting tasks such as revenue recognition, payroll entries and allocations, fixed assets, project accounting analysis using accounting software
monitoring and forecasting cash flow which includes preparation of schedules on expectations of project forecasts, collection of accounts receivable and prediction of payments on vendor invoices,
preparation of monthly variance analysis of actual versus budget/forecast,
annual review/audit processes
annual budget preparation
interface and work closely with Senior Management for financial statement review, cash flow discussions and other ad hoc reporting
budget formulation, execution, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives
