A business based in Bridlington is currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their busy Finance Team. The successful Purchase Ledger Clerk will receive a competitive salary of circa £25,000 based on experience and qualification, as well as attractive working hours of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, alongside a modern office and working environment, as well as free, on-site parking.
As Purchase Ledger Clerk you will be responsible for the accurate processing of purchase invoices, processing and reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies. Alongside various other duties and supporting the wider Finance Team.

As Purchase Ledger Clerk you will be responsible for the accurate processing of purchase invoices, processing and reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies. Alongside various other duties and supporting the wider Finance Team.
Reporting into the Management Accountant, key responsibilities of the Purchase Ledger Clerk will include:
- Process, match & code invoices and credit notes
- Inputting journals as required
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Processing supplier payment runs and ad hoc payments
- Deal efficiently with supplier queries
- Maintenance of purchase ledger accounts, including new account creation
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconciling credit card statements, obtaining and matching receipts to expenditure
- Supporting other colleagues in the Finance Team as appropriate
- Other ad hoc duties as required
To be successful in this Purchase Ledger Clerk opportunity you must:
- Have previous experience in a similar finance position, working within a busy Finance Team
- Be IT literate and have excellent Microsoft Office knowledge, in particular MS Excel experience
- Have strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines
- Have knowledge of using accountancy software such as Xero, Sage etc. with the capability to be able to learn new systems and processes quickly
