Key responsibilities

• As Group Tax Manager you will be responsible for direct and indirect tax operations for the Convatec group, comprising businesses located in over 100 countries.

• Working alongside a global team of established in-house tax professionals, the role will lead manage the group tax reporting process, along with responsibility to both develop in-house talent and support external advisors with the global tax compliance for direct and indirect tax.

• Further the role will play a critical role in the transformation and implementation of a future-focused tax operating model. It will also bring the opportunity to further develop a varied tax career in a listed multinational environment, bringing opportunities to support ad-hoc projects with our business units and supporting the wider tax and finance function.

• The role sits within the group tax function which is responsible for managing strategic tax matters, operational business partnering and tax reporting and compliance.

• The role will also bring ad-hoc opportunities to support both strategic tax projects and the operational business across the wider tax life cycle.

• Opportunities to further develop a tax career across a variety of in a FTSE 100 HQ environment.

• Leading the outsourced global compliance processes for direct and indirect tax.

• Driving transformation and change across the group’s tax operations, supporting the training and development of centralised in-house GBS (Global Business Services) resources to better support and internalise the tax life cycle.

• Efficient technical review and analysis of group tax provision reporting in Longview as prepared by GBS.

• Supporting the forecasting of ETR and cash taxes and communicating effectively with colleagues.

• Providing input in continual process improvement opportunities and support in the implementation of new processes and tools for tax reporting, compliance, and tax forecasting, including management of delivery as required. The purpose will be to deliver efficiencies and simplification of the tax reporting and compliance processes following the principles of “simplify, standardise and automate.”

• Working across the business, you will stay up to date on global tax laws, rules, and regulations and accounting pronouncements which may impact the Group .

Key requirements

• Tax reporting expertise and technical experience in direct tax.

• Awareness of indirect taxes will also be desirable

• Motivated by delivering change and excited to develop a board skillset across the tax life cycle.

• Experience of working either with multinational enterprises as a clients or within in-house tax or finance functions

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of Longview or other tax reporting software, and ERP systems such as SAP useful

Education/ Qualifications

• Accounting and or CTA qualified

• Strong technical knowledge of tax accounting under IFRS

Travel Requirements

• The role may require occasional travel to the London Paddington or Lisbon offices.
