Our client is looking an experienced Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is paying a competitve salary, and offers hybrid working - 1 day a week in the office, except during month end, with their office based in Blackburn.

The purpose of this role:

• Provide leadership in operating, simplifying and improving all the Sarbox processes and controls, both within Finance and across the business, as well as leading the process of working with our external advisors and auditors, together with stakeholder communication and management.
• Lead financial reporting and compliance for the business. Provide leadership to the Finance team and the wider business on best practice and drive continuous improvements in all aspects of financial reporting, while maintaining a strong control environment.

Skills and experience needed:

• Qualified accountant
• Strong communication - working with other areas of the business outside of Finance.
• US GAAP
• Prior Big 4 Accounting Firms
• Auditing - Internal and External
• In house experience
• General Ledger experience - Provide leadership to the Financial Accounting Manager to ensure strong governance and analytic review over the month end close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Statatutory Accounts - ensure that all statutory deadlines are adhered to and the statutory accounts are filed on time.
