About Us:

H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located 140klm west of Melbourne at Trawalla. The prison's primary purpose is to prepare male prisoners for transition, reintegration, and release. As a working farm with eight separate industries, there is a strong focus on employment, training, and work readiness.

About the Role:

The Finance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring best-practice financial, procurement and prison stores processes. The position will provide detailed financial analysis, monitoring and reporting advice to the Finance Manager, General Manager Corporate Services, and business unit managers for allocated cost centres. The position will also be responsible for supporting the Grampians Region annual budget development cycle and stores stocktaking cycle/s.

Some of your duties will include:
  • Supervising and leading a small team in the delivery of all finance and designated procurement functions at H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal; plan and prioritise the team's workload, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
  • Implementing best-practice financial, procurement, contract management and stores processes.
  • Providing tailored financial and procurement reporting, analysis, advice, and support to a broad range of business unit managers.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, in particular analysis and reporting, and utilisation of financial management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in compiling performance reports and improving processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
  • A qualification in Commerce or Accounting is desirable.
