Our client, a progressive and fast paced chemical supply and distribution company, seeks to employ a Senior Accountant, who has completed Articles, and seeking a career opportunity in the manufacturing or distribution sector.

Please note this is not a management role but rather a role for a mid-career level accountant, who has completed Articles and who has gained experience using SAGE, which is non-negotiable criteria. In addition, only candidates resident in the Johannesburg region will be initially considered. KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have completed a BComm plus Articles, coupled with 5+ years experience in the full accounting function within either the manufacturing, engineering or distribution sector.
• Expert proficiency in SAGE accounting software and advanced Excel is not negotiable,
• You will have expertise in aligning policies, procedures and conducting risk management audits, as well as investigating discrepancies.
• You must have solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS legislation/regulations, as well as knowledge of taxation for multiple entities
• A thorough track record in financial statements, forecasts, budget compilations and oversights of cashflow.
• Experience in Payroll accounting necessary
• You will have experience in managing a small team
• You must have a valid driver's licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
