Duties & ResponsibilitiesJob & Company Description:

This company specialising in insurance is urgently looking for a phenomenal candidate to fill their recently vacated Management Accountant role for a 3 months period, to provide monthly statutory, regulatory and management reporting for a specified C&I business unit.

This role will require an individual with a passion for accounting practices, applicable laws, codes and regulations amongst other things.

The key responsibilities for this role will include:

• Cost containment: Demonstrate cost consciousness and awareness of personal contribution to costs and productivity
• Identify and escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs
• Risk and Compliance: Comply with and adhere to identified governance and compliance standards and escalate problems for investigation and resolution
• Provide timeous reports on operations, performance and audit findings
• Report on transactional activity progression
• Business information analysis
• Collect and analyse data to determine cost of business activities and report on results
• Analyse monthly budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls

As you will be required to hit the ground running extensive experience is essential.

The requirements:

Qualification:

• Bachelor of Accounting Degree or equivalent (non-negotiable)
• CIMA qualification (preferable)

Experience:

• 1 to 3 years experience in a similar environment
• Knowledge accepted accounting practices and principles

Skills Required:

• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Excellent collaborative skills
• Ownership and accountability
