As our Accounting and Financial Manager, you will oversee and enhance the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic growth. You will be responsible for group reporting, statutory accounts, taxation, and external financial communication, while also leading and developing a talented team.

Your role will focus on maintaining robust internal controls, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving the automation and efficiency of financial processes.

Your Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Group Reporting:
  • Oversee monthly and annual group financial reporting.
Statutory Accounts:
  • Manage the preparation of annual reports and financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
Tax Management:
  • Handle VAT, corporate tax, and other tax-related matters.
External Financial Communication:
  • Serve as the primary contact for country-level external financial communication.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and maintain robust internal control systems.
Risk Management:
  • Conduct risk mappings, fraud prevention, and group compliance activities.
Accounting Operations

  • Accounting Processes and Closings:
  • Supervise monthly and annual accounting closures.
Daily/Weekly Operations:
  • Oversee daily and weekly accounting operations.
Flow Mapping:
  • Manage IT and physical flow mapping for financial processes.
Process Automation:
  • Work on the automation of financial flows to enhance efficiency.
Team Leadership And Development

  • Team Animation:
  • Lead and develop a team of 5-6 teammates and 2 Accounting Partners(functional).
  • Animate 4 accounting specialists (AP, AR, Property, United Services), LFO - New Business Models and 1 financial controller.
  • Provide functional animation for 2 accounting partners working from the Center of Excellence in France.
Development Plans:
  • Propose tailored development plans, teach, and share knowledge.
  • Identify improvement areas and implement effective solutions.
  • Identify and nurture talents, offering increased responsibilities and monitoring progress.
  • Build an effective, motivated, and complementary team.
Career Development:
  • Present and promote internal career opportunities and development plans.
  • Involve the team in external recruitment processes, considering their input and maintaining high standards.
  • Ensure the continuity and integration of new teammates through permanent recruitment and comprehensive onboarding.
Skills We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in any related job
  • You have a profound understanding of business operations and market dynamics.
  • You have accounting knowledge with solid Accounting principles and practices.
  • You have expertise in establishing and maintaining internal control systems.
  • You are familiar with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • You have an understanding of local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • You know both local and international taxation regulations and compliance.
  • You have previous experience managing a team

Additional Information

This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least three days a week in our Hub located in Manchester (Stockport).
