Indirect Tax Manager

We are looking for an Indirect Tax Manager to work as part of the team based within our office in Swinton, Greater Manchester.

The Package - Indirect Tax Manager
As a Indirect Tax Manager, you will receive a salary in the region of £55-70k per annum, with the level dependent on experience and potentially negotiable for the right candidate, along with the opportunity to earn an annual bonus, and additional benefits to include:

The Role - Indirect Tax Manager
Reporting to the Tax Director the Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all VAT and Indirect Tax related activities with the business.

Main Duties: Indirect Tax Manager
  • Oversee and manage all VAT and Indirect Tax related activities within the company.
  • Ensure compliance with Indirect Tax regulations and international accounting standards.
  • Ensure timely submission and payment of all indirect tax returns.
  • Control and reconcile VAT GL balances.
  • Main point of contact for all indirect tax matters for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the wider accounting and finance team.
  • Identify and evaluate key Indirect Tax risks and opportunities, ensuring effective risk management processes are operated and reported.
  • Communicate key VAT issues concisely to non-tax specialists and to influence and implement the necessary process improvements leading to the optimisation of the indirect tax processes and systems.
  • Maintain good technical knowledge and keep abreast of any indirect tax legislation changes affecting Operations.
  • Line management of one team member to ensure continuous progression and work quality.
  • Deal with VAT and indirect tax audits and investigations.
  • Take the lead on VAT projects and improvement initiatives in line with overall Finance Strategy.
  • Maintain the tax determination and configuration of the business ERPs and tax tools.
  • Produce and maintain standardised end to end process documentation.
Our Requirements - Indirect Tax Manager
  • Strong knowledge of VAT accounting and compliance. •
  • Experience in manufacturing business.
  • Experience with SAP and Sage
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills. •
  • Ability to prioritise workload and keep to deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Desire to learn and develop self and others.
  • Ability to drive change.
