Cogent Staffing are seeking a skilled Junior Management Accountant to join our clients existing team supporting the Financial controller and preparing monthly management accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain associated schedules

* Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts

* Post month-end journals for multiple companies

* Own section(s) of the Profit and Loss accounts across multiple entities and/or profit centres

* Collaborate with colleagues to investigate and resolve queries

* Prepare ad-hoc analysis and contribute to special projects

* Partner with colleagues at all levels to effectively communicate results and improve reporting standards

Key Requirements

* Finance or Accountancy degree/qualification (AAT)

* Prior experience assisting in management accounts preparation

* Working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

* Previous experience in a finance role (e.g., Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable)

* Excellent Excel and general IT skills essential

* Passion for structure, organisation and numbers

* Experience with Sage 200 is desirable

* Strong organizational and communication skills

* Friendly and enthusiastic personality with high attention to detail

* Ability to work in the UK and receive a clear DBS check

* Preference for experience in the social care sector in a finance role within a high-volume, multi-site business
