Reference: PS010305-SH-1A well-established global earth moving equipment company supplying the steel and mining industry requires the above to handle all cost accounting functions working within an established financial team.
Minimum requirements for the role:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential for this role.
Previous experience having worked within a management accounting or related role is preferred.
Must have accounting processing and financial reporting systems knowledge, exposure and experience.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standards, and methodologies.
Computer literacy is essential. Must have intermediate Excel (V lookups) as the successful candidate will be working on this for a large percentage of the day.
Previous experience having worked on sage evolution ERP is preferred but not essential as the company will train the person.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Working in a team of finance staff handling various costings and financial functions for engineering products within the steel and mining industry.
Assisting and preparing various monthly reconciliations and management reports working on Sage Evolution.
Assisting with inventory costing.
Conducting detailed analysis of manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labour, and overhead expenses.
Analysing production costs and variances to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
Monitoring actual performance against budgeted costs and providing variance analysis.
Providing insights into cost trends, deviations, and areas of concern to support decision-making.
Reviewing and approving purchase orders, order entries, shipment costings and debtor invoices.
Reviewing debtors and creditors month-end processing.
Preparing financial forecasts.
Approving cod payments and managing fixed assets.
Handling inventory management on site.
Performing monthly processing up to trial balance.
Conducting expenditure analysis and compiling and presenting financial reports.
Handling job costing and quoting and analysing and monitoring contract performance.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
