Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team which is Providing financial support on a daily basis to the relevant Business unit/s.

- Reviewing of the business unit/s various project costing to ensure cash flow and profitability forecasts are in line with project budget. Consult with operational team and business unit manager
- Manage the General Ledger reporting and review of the processing of Project Accounting Modules; Manage journal entries to do monthly closing, Monthly consolidation and related reporting
- Monthly reporting as well as corporate reporting of the business unit/s
- Assist Business unit/s management with monthly closing, annual budget and quarterly forecasts based on projects status
- Assist with General Ledger cost codes and opening of new job numbers in the system
- Bookings updating and follow-up
- Analyze financial information needs by reviewing existing systems and working out the best way to meet those needs with the reporting system (optimisation of the structure)
- Conduct special investigations and feasibility studies on various projects.
- Identifying the opportunities and risks for the Business unit.
- Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy
- Proactive approach in taking control of the Business unit financial controlling & reporting
- Assist the operational team with the monthly payment certificates/ invoicing to be sent as per the contracts milestones and ensure that the latter are sent on time. To check the calculating of the contract price escalation/adjustment and FOREX if any; Updating of client invoicing and payment template
- Check and report quarterly stock take and assist with day-to-day stock control
- Manage all aspects of the business unit/s P&L, investigate balance sheet, and interrogate figures to ensure accurate reporting
- Ensure all financial policies are adhered to
- Ensure the Company's financial procedures and practices are according to Company and Group procedures and practices.
- Internal controls and levels of authority of approvals are adhered to.
Required Competence and/or Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cash flow and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Extensive knowledge of JD Edwards (non-negotiable) automated financial and accounting reporting system. Ability to train users (project managers and cost controllers). Shall be the Contact Manager for all the users, in charge of liaising with the HQ support team (new features, developments, etc.).
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, monthly closing and project profitability analysis.
- Operation & Services contract management knowledge is preferred
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Degree or Diploma/ B. Tech Cost Accounting or Management Accounting essential
- Ten (10) years of relevant experience preferably within a project accounting environment
- Computer literate (Excel - Advanced level, Word and JD Edwards) or similar accounting package experience
- Financial Organisation skills
