We are currently looking for an experienced FP&A professional to join our Commercial Finance team as Head of FP&A to lead the accurate & timely delivery of relevant, reliable and robust financial budgets and forecasts for the Commercial division.

The Role

  • Provide commercial analysis & reporting, identify trends and evaluating profit opportunities for your area of focus. Including both the “big picture” and detailed analysis highlighting opportunities and potential issues.
  • Produce short and long term financial plans.
  • Produce insightful reports for the executive and leadership boards to show trends over time, bridge movements between periods and provide sensitivity analysis.
  • Work with the divisional executive team to ensure budgets reflect changing business needs and relevant key performance indicators.
  • Calculate the budget divisional costs ensuring a thorough understanding of the allocations included.
  • Understand what support the divisional executive require, to enable them to truly understand and take ownership of the delivery of their divisional plans, providing insight to support any identified knowledge gaps..
Track performance of monthly actuals against financial plans.Own commercial analysis for your area including, but not limited to:
  • Insightful business analytics for various directors, whom you will liaise with directly and regularly, to influence & challenge the commercial decision-making process.
  • Analysis of KPIs, trends and business drivers to highlight risks & opportunities.
  • Manage the development of models, evaluation and analysis of profit opportunities.
  • Analysis of historical and future customer and product profitability.
  • Challenge of integrity and strategic alignment of projects and commercial decisions and provision of recommendations following impact analysis.
Involvement in due diligence and transaction support work.Engage with colleagues in other relevant functions, developing a network of contacts.The role will work closely with the divisional executive team in a collaborative environment to ensure that all present and future management decisions and actions are appropriate in the group plans and forecasts and are a good commercial and strategic fit.
What You Will Bring With You

  • The role demands a confident, diligent and skilled individual. It is desirable to have an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) but not essential. Excellent, professional communication skills are essential as is a proven ability to analyse large quantities of data.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Highly numerate, intellectually strong and capable of analysing large quantities of complex data.
  • Commercial analytical mindset.
  • Rigorous, methodical and well organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify risks/issues promptly and action effectively.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to negotiate with and influence others to ensure the best outcome is obtained for all parties. By expressing ideas effectively, organising and delivering information appropriately.
  • Strong IT capabilities, detailed knowledge of the main Microsoft applications including excellent excel knowledge (lookups, pivot tables, formulae etc).
  • Strong modelling and analysis capabilities. An ability to review, manage and develop new financial and analytical models is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a deadline-driven financial reporting environment.
  • Confident decision maker. Using sound judgement to make good decisions based on information gathered and analysed, escalating any issues appropriately

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary between £60,000-£65,000 per annum (dependent on experience) & Annual bonus
