I am working with a Public Sector based in Essex , who are looking for a Head of Financial Management
The role is hybrid, a contract opportunity for 3 months with possibility to extend and is based in Essex.
ROLE OVERVIEW
To lead, manage and be accountable for the provision of the Financial Management Service ensuring that it continually meets the expectations and requirements of the business. To develop and implement strategies, policies and work practices to support an efficient and effective service that complies with corporate priorities, legal requirements and commercial aspirations. As a member of the council's senior management team, to contribute proactively to the collective leadership for the council, working collaboratively with Members, services across the council, partners and stakeholders to deliver the council's objectives and priorities. Lead by example in modelling and embedding the council's values and behaviours to help build a sustainable highly effective organisation and develop our reputation as a successful council delivering great value for its residents. Provide outstanding leadership and direction to the service, driving service transformation and ensuring excellent joint working with Members and other stakeholders.
Skills and Abilities
* Manage political and cultural issues deliver project, programme, and change management.
* Translate strategic objectives into operational plans.
* Inspire, motivate, coach, and develop team members.
* Advanced relationship and stakeholder management effective communication.
* Excellent financial and budget management creative and efficient practices.
* Commercial, financial, and analytical skills analyse problems, develop business models, and advise on risk management.
Special Knowledge
* Professional qualification: CCAB / CIMA or equivalent.
* Degree qualified.
* Evidence of CPD.
* Knowledge of local government issues, legal, financial, and political context, and statutory responsibilities.
* Knowledge of business, financial, and commercial techniques drive for efficiency, continuous improvement, and high standards.
Experience
* Leading and developing a significant function or service in a large organisation.
* Establishing partnerships and productive relationships within a complex environment.
* Successful resource management, managing large budgets, business planning, and performance management.
* Analyzing data, comparing income and expenditure, and suggesting future strategy.
* Managing multiple projects, knowledge of project management, and implementing major service changes.
