Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Location:
Cramlington NE23.
Salary:
£26,000 - £28,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience.
About The Company:
They specialize in the making of exceptional, personalized, luxurious, upholstered furniture and have the largest team of skilled craftsmen and women in the UK to do so. Every sofa, chair and stool are meticulously handmade in their factory by their team. Their integrity, care and detail set them apart from the competition.
They are now looking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team.
The role is a broad-based finance and administration position working across Purchase, Sales, Nominal ledgers and Payroll.
Key Duties (But not limited too)
Purchasing & Purchase Ledger:
* Be the first point of contact for suppliers
* Raising of purchase orders for 2 UK sites for approval by manager
* Processing purchase invoices, and liaising with relevant departments to resolve any queries (UK & USA)
* Preparation of weekly and monthly payment runs for approval by manager (UK), ensuring creditors are paid to terms
* Posting cash to ledger (UK & USA)
* Statement reconciliations (UK & USA)
Sales Ledger:
* Invoice generation and processing for (UK & USA)
* Collecting card payments from clients (UK)
* Liaising with clients to collect payments ahead of deliveries (UK)
* Posting cash to ledger (UK & USA)
Payroll/Employee Administration:
* Cover for weekly payroll, including journal preparation, overtime and holiday/absence reporting
* Assist HR with maintenance of employee records
Other:
* Management & journal posting of company credit cards (UK)
* Maintenance of material import spreadsheet for quarterly HMRC import returns
* Liaising with commercial departments (UK & USA) to resolve incomplete information issues with imports
Candidate Requirements:
* Broad based experience in all aspects of finance
* Excel user to reasonable standard
* Exposure to manufacturing environment desirable but not essential
* Payroll experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided
* Ability to assist and work alongside Assistant Accountant & Financial Controller
Behaviours & Attitudes:
* Comfortable in small, fast moving office environment
* Motivated, able to use initiative and used to working to deadlines
* Able to communicate well with suppliers including handling some difficult conversations from time to time
