Introduction
POSITION: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK
REPORTS TO: TREASURY ACCOUNTANT

About the Job:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment, performing the reconciliation between the accounts payable ledger and vendor statements and for ensuring that all vendors are paid in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

•Familiarise self with all accounts payable, accounting, quality control and other relevantcompany policies & procedures ensuring that these are strictly adhered to.
•Develop a clear understanding of expense accounts and cost centres.
•Facilitate the receipt of invoices and statements by sending reminders to and contactingvendors.
•Ensure requisitions, purchase orders and invoices are properly authorised in accordancewith the appropriate levels of authority.
•Verify, classify and process invoices and credit notes daily.
•Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accountedfor and posted.
•Reconcile vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
•Verify, investigate and resolve all discrepancies.
•Processing payments in compliance with financial policies & procedures and inaccordance with vendor payment terms.
•Timely and accurate preparation of cash payment journals and application of paymentson the accounting system.
•Updating the accounting and banking system with vendor details.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience and Qualifications Required
•Grade 12/ Matric.•Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent finance qualification.•Minimum of 1 year experience within a finance team, 2 years of which as an Accounts Payable Clerk.•Strong computer skills.•Advanced Excel.

Work Requirements
•Hours of work: Mon to Fri; 8am to 5pm.
