As a Payroll Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our extensive workforce. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare monthly Revenue and Company Admin fee schedules for submission to the finance department.
  • Compile monthly salary cost journals.
  • Review and approve salary-related payments for accuracy against supporting documentation.
  • Generate monthly payroll statistical reports.
  • Manage banking administration, resolve related queries, and ensure timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Submit staff training schedules, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements for all training.
  • Provide daily Cash Flow Reporting on IT2Net.
  • Handle RMA/WCA administration, resolve associated queries, ensure letters of good standing are obtained, and register new businesses as needed.
  • Administer the CWS System, ensuring it remains up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) within the office.
  • Review and maintain effective internal control procedures within the payroll department.
  • Perform general office duties including managing orders.
  • Assist with providing information required for the budgeting process.
  • Review monthly payroll department results and compare them against the budget.
  • Process payroll-related journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly payroll bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile monthly payroll control accounts and resolve any associated queries.
  • Support internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation.
  • Assist with any ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications:
Diploma or Bcom Accounting

Skills:
Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll/accounting role
Sage 300 will be advantageous
Experience in an accounting role will be advantageous
