Investment Analyst

Our client seeks to employ an Investment Analyst to provide portfolio administration (including investment valuations), research and deal execution support. The analyst will also assist in the company's fundraising activities, including the creation of marketing information, building /population of financial models and the management of information flow with external stakeholders (via virtual data rooms etc.)
RESPONSIBILITIESARE NOT LIMITED TO BUT WILL INCLUDE:
- Compile quarterly investment reports on portfolio companies reflecting an in-depth understanding of the company and external market drivers.
- Investment management support in portfolio companies and exit processes.
- Development and maintenance of VDR, investment models, portfolio data, and supporting analytics.
- Monitor and evaluate (perform valuations) on the performance of existing investments with limited supervision.
- Assist in the commercial due diligence and analysis on prospective projects.
- Build and populate financial models that accurately calculate return on investment of projects and cash flow projections.
- Prepare investment & marketing documents for presentation to potential and current investors, investment committee on specific investments - information memoranda and prospectus.
- Analyse company's financial statements and financial projections and provide input on the investment decisions.
- Undertake research & provide updates on financial markets, latest developments & trends in key infrastructure sectors etc. in the local, African, and global markets.
- Assist with providing information pertaining negotiations and conclusion of legal agreements related to new investments.
- Perform benchmarking and analytical studies, prepare reports and recommendations to enable business decision making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in financial briefings provided by the investment managers internally and externally.
- Assist in adhering to governance compliance, risk and reporting policies and procedures.
- Assist in compiling relevant Impact and ESG reports and completing various ESG and other industry related surveys.
- Ensure that all investment compliance regulations are met, and properly reported against guidelines (e.g. UNPRI, SDG's, etc.)Duties & ResponsibilitiesQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Post graduate bachelor's degree in finance.
- A master's degree in business or finance will be an added advantage.
- A CA / CFA or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in private equity and/ or equivalent (preferably infrastructure related)
- Experience in supporting execution of investment transactions.
- Sound experience in building & maintaining financial models non-negotiable.
- Sound experience in performing DCF and other valuations methodologies on portfolio companies non-negotiable.
