Job DescriptionAre you an experienced credit controller with a talent for balancing strong customer relationships and financial efficiency? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment? Our client, a leading product-based business, is seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join their team. In this role, your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the financial health and success of the organization by meeting cash collection and Days Sales Outstanding / DSO targets.

Key Aspects of the Role:

This position is set in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, part of a team that manages between 500 - 700 accounts at any given time. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Equally important are excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence, which are crucial for handling customer interactions and achieving win-win scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for all credit-related issues, providing exceptional customer service and problem resolution.
  
• Adhere to and enforce the group's credit control policy, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  
• Open new accounts and conduct thorough credit verifications for new customers, establishing and maintaining appropriate credit limits.
  
• Manage daily operations including the release of suspended and COO orders.
  
• Prepare and distribute monthly statements to customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  
• Allocate payments promptly and accurately, ensuring accounts are settled in full.
  
• Resolve customer claims and queries efficiently, collaborating with the sales and commercial teams as needed.
  
• Negotiate payment agreements and resolve disputes with customers, aiming for mutually beneficial outcomes.
  
• Assess and recommend actions on accounts for potential write-offs or legal proceedings.
  
• Conduct occasional customer visits to strengthen relationships and address concerns.
  
• Provide timely feedback on critical issues to line management, supporting strategic decision-making.
  
• Ensure timely handover of delinquent accounts to attorneys for further action.
  
• Maintain the monthly book value in alignment with current KPIs, ensuring financial stability and accurate reporting.
  

Requirements
Qualifications & Competencies

• Matric
  
• Credit Management Diploma or other related tertiary qualification (advantageous).
  
• 3+ years of Senior credit control experience.
  
• Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  
• Knowledge of an ERP system (company uses SAP)
  
• High accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  
• Excellent command of the English language AND proficiency in Afrikaans is a strong preference.
  
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and management at all levels.
  
• Clear credit record.
