Accountant

Location: Alberton

Salary: R35 000 - R40 000CTC

Duties

• Journals - Wages and Salary Journal, Process journals as per FM, Credit Card journals as per expenses on the credit card statement.
• Statutory payments - Vat 201 and EMP201
• Petty Cash - Petty Cash Box management, Capturing petty cash transactions
• Fixed Asset Register - keep the FAR up to date, process monthly depreciation
• Cash Book - reconciliation, reconcile once a week, first business day of the month.
• GL Recon - GL Recon to be completed by 20th of the month to allow FM to review.
• Credit Card Management
• Nedfleet - Cards, Recon Vehicle Registration, Insurance
• Cell phone Control and Account
• Vetting credit applications
• Submitting credit applications to Experian
• Preparing files for management approval
• Creating new accounts and loading credit limits.
• Debtors - manage all debtors to trade within the agreed terms, weekly analysis and distribution of Age Analysis to Divisional Managers for feedback, liaising with customers regarding their accounts, follow up on overdue accounts, weekly analysis with FM regarding debtors' issues, processing of customer payment refunds
• Month end reporting - Reconcile debtors' collection on GL account, debtors provision GL account and legal debtors GL account, preparation of debtors' overdue report, monthly meeting with Sales on accounts

Minimum Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Financial or Management Accounting
• Knowledge and experience with ERP system preferably SAGE / SYSPRO
• A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in similar role.
