Introduction
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg South. This role reports directly to the Financial Manager. The ideal candidate will have a completed Finance Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:

• Preparing month-end accounts up to the Management Accounts level.
• Posting standard monthly expenses into the accounts.
• Maintaining the company's fixed asset register and calculating depreciation charges.
• Validating, controlling, and reconciling finance agreements and rentals, and entering related accounts into the general ledger.
• Determining prepayments and accruals to be accounted for.
• Managing VAT control, including performing reasonability tests and reconciling VAT returns with the general ledger.
• Investigating unexpected variances in the Income Statement.
• Setting up and maintaining monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
• Preparing lead schedules for all relevant balance sheet accounts at the financial year-end.
• Ensuring comprehensive reconciliation of accounts to verify that all costs and revenues are accounted for.
• Preparing and managing paperwork for foreign payments.
• Assisting with ad hoc assignments as needed.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Completed relevant B Com Degree (Finance related)
• At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role, including 2 years in a manufacturing environment
• SAP is mandatory
• Proficient in computer skills, especially Excel
• Auditing experience is a plus
• Confident, self-reliant, and quick to learn
• Effective team collaborator
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Flexible with working hours, willing to work overtime as needed
• Able to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Package & Remuneration
R480K - R540K (basic per annum)
