The Tax Information Service group supports, maintains, and enhances the DTCC's various domestic tax products, including the US Tax Withholding Service, Domestic Tax Reporting (DTax), 2439 Reporting, and W-9 compliance. The area works closely with Product Management and the General Counsel to market these products and ensure compliance with current Treasury Department Legislation. Responsibilities: Determine general division of workload, delegate, review, monitor, and approve staff outputs Train staff and perform all aspects of performance management Interact with internal and external clients as needed Create and maintain relationships with Mutual Fund and Real Estate Investment Trusts Issuers/Agents as well as their respective lobbying organizations to obtain the needed year-end tax reclassifications, utilized in 1099 reporting, in a timely manner. Represent DTCC at various functions. Monitor and identify new products and work with Tax Counsel and Product Management when required to determine withholding impact and correlate all changes to tax legislation enacted during the year by reading and understanding the various new regulations, to include Section 302 Reporting/Withholding and their impact to the industry contained in IRS Publication 15 & Publication 17 Provide tax technical support for Asset Services with respect to new issue prospectus review and event classification Monitor and control reconciliation of all tax adjustments to the collected funds. Updates tax tables allowing proper withholding on all security types as well as the various tax components including Section 302 Reporting/Withholding Ensure that tax funds are remitted to the IRS according to the IRS-imposed schedule Prepare and reconcile the Asset Services Division 1042-S and 1042 forms and provide the 1042 for filing Manage the process of 2439 reporting and W-9 compliance Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Thorough understanding of 1099 and 1042S reporting requirements Knowledge of 1446(f), 305c, and 871m regulations Ability to synthesize complex regulations into easily understood terms without losing intent of regulations Strong organization, analytical, coaching and communication skills Ability to problem-solve and oversee daily operations PC skills and general knowledge of mainframe applications #J-18808-Ljbffr
