Credit Controller Salary £28,000 - Redhill - Hybrid

We are searching for someone that is looking to join a successful company based in Redhill and play an extremely important role for the business. Maybe you have been working within another organisation as credit control, debt advisor, or any type of arrears specialist, if so, this is the role for you.

The Role:
  • Ensure end to end query and dispute resolution as part of the debt management activity to ensure customer satisfaction and payment collection.
  • Adjustment and amendment of billing and customer master as required.
  • Encouraging and converting the customers onto the direct debit terms.
  • Understanding and negotiating acceptable payment terms where required
  • Understanding accuracy in billing to ensure correct charges are being chased.
  • Identify and trace the customer to ensure RPC at the first instance.
  • Producing bills, statements and carry out full reconciliation to help facilitate payment collection.
  • Obtain customer payment remittance to minimise the suspense ledger balance or unallocated payments.
  • Liaise with other departments to understand and resolve the customer issues.
  • Calculate and highlight the late payment (or other additional) charges to customer in arrears and apply/remove those charges on the system as required.
  • Update the system to reflect debtor approaches including recovery paths, reminders, notices, and penalty payments.
  • Ensuring appropriate end to end steps for customers in financial difficulties, administration, liquidation, bankruptcy, or deceased type situations.
  • Recommending DCA, litigation or disconnection approach for uncollectable debt to minimise the aged/bad debt situation.


Experience required:
  • Portfolio management of customers with overdue debt
  • Responsibility for applying good practice in payments and debt processes
  • Legal processes associated with debt management
  • Reconciliation of account
  • Ability to communicate to customers diligently and professionally
  • Team player
  • Ability to work flexibly
  • Good organisational skills
  • Capable of following procedures and systematic processes
  • Ability to negotiate
