Are you an experienced and innovative Credit Risk Manager seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic financial institution? Dudley Building Society is actively seeking a talented individual to join our dedicated Governance, Risk and Compliance team. As a Credit Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing mortgage credit risk, including propensity for default (PD) and loss given default (LGD), throughout the mortgage lifecycle from product design and new business origination through to underwriting and arrears management. This will include associated regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.

Are you an experienced and innovative Credit Risk Manager seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic financial institution? Dudley Building Society is actively seeking a talented individual to join our dedicated Governance, Risk and Compliance team. As a Credit Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing mortgage credit risk, including propensity for default (PD) and loss given default (LGD), throughout the mortgage lifecycle from product design and new business origination through to underwriting and arrears management. This will include associated regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
Your day to day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the lending policy that reflects the lending appetite for new business
- Overseeing the mortgage underwriting process, including training & competence, process effectiveness and policy compliance.
- Overseeing the mortgage arrears management process including training & competence, process effectiveness and policy compliance.
- Reviewing policy exceptions and proposed policy changes from Distribution, Underwriting or Products
- Reviewing the effectiveness of the credit risk model, including inputs and outputs and any changes proposed
- Understanding the impact of forthcoming changes to regulations and the external environment on the Society's mortgage credit risk
- Effective collaboration with other colleagues in Governance, Risk & Compliance, in particular operational risk, QA, prudential risk oversight and governance.
What we're looking for:
- Experience working within a Credit Risk function or as a Senior Underwriter, within the Mortgage sector.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail to maintain a high level of accuracy with an analytical mindset.
- Strong organisation and planning skills; you'll need to love spinning lots of plates.
- Strong numerical skillset: a numerical degree or equivalent is preferrable, but not essential.
