What you'll be doing;

This is a diverse role where the successful candidate will gain experience in multiple areas of the Treatment Business. These areas include PFI, ERF and Wood Pellet.

Strong communication, analytical and critical thinking is essential to problem solving, with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines whilst receptive and embracing new changes.

The role will have an indirect report of an Accounts Assistant who you will mentor and manage workload.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to add value, drive positive financial impact and improve business efficiency. They will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders; from the General Manager and local operational teams, to Senior Management and the wider Veolia business

  • Production of monthly management accounts delivered to tight deadlines together with sound analysis and investigation of results and variances for a number of operational units including group consolidation processes.
  • Site visits when required and interaction with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and support to business development is achieved.
  • Preparing forecasts and budget workings with the General Manager and local operational teams and production of the budget and forecast presentation packs.
  • Statutory accounts preparation and assisting with the annual group audit process.
  • Ensure all contracts are complying with group financial policies and procedures, including performing regular fixed assets registers and balance sheets reviews.
  • Working with clients on contract performance and adapting systems to any changes in service.
  • Monthly Paymech, monthly PFI reports and Annual reconciliations per contractual agreement.
  • Monitor and evaluate procedures to ensure financial and cash flow forecasting remains accurate/effective.
  • Control and reporting of capital expenditure.
  • Financial analysis of operational data and KPI
  • Stock control including accuracy of accounting
  • Project support - data collection & reconciliation
  • Ad-hoc financial / administrative tasks Performance Measures


What we're looking for;

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with post qualification experience
  • Knowledge of Workday and PFI accounting would be advantageous
  • Experienced with production of Management Accounts, financial/statutory reporting and accounting Systems
  • Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices.
  • A practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
