Financial Controller
Wetherby
£60k to £80k pa
Our Client:
Invigorate Recruitment is working with its client a highly successful, award winning business, who manufacturing a high quality luxury product world-wide, operating within a B2B environment.
Due to significant and sustained growth, our client is recruiting an experiencedFinancial Controllerto join their friendly team based in Wetherby.
In this newly created position, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the business & management team, leading and developing the finance team and function, whilst helping to provide meaningful insights into the business operations.
This is an interesting and varied business focused role, interacting with all members of the team and playing a pivotal role at the centre of a company operating globally.
What is the role for theFinancial Controller :
This exciting hands on role will help in delivering a first class service to the business at a time when growth and excellence is a priority.
You must be able to handle numerous briefs and requests, all with varying degrees of priority and deadline constraints; must be unflappable and able to multi-task. You must have a can do mindset where you are prepared to see a job through to its completion and within the stated deadline.
Main Duties & Overall Responsibilities for the Financial Controller:
Monthly Accounting
Ability to understand and perform the all-accounting duties, including but not limited to overseeing the upkeep of all the primary ledgers and cash books.
Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts and associated analysis and reporting, including preparation of the financial board pack.
Responsible for overall balance sheet reconciliation process.
Management and development of the finance team.
Annual Accounting & Liaison with Stakeholders
Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns.
Liaising with the audit team and other external stakeholders.
Production and submission of various reports as requested by investors
Budget and forecasting
Producing Monthly Forecasting reports.
Producing the annual budget in conjunction with other senior members of the management team.
Commercial Financial Analysis
Evaluate commercial performance metrics.
Using business data to produce meaningful analysis, communicating this in an insightful way to aid senior management decisions.
Have a passion and understanding of the importance of data and its accuracy, interpretation and how to present it to all levels of the team.
Understanding and challenging the cost base.
Systems & Processes
Project manage the implementation of and further development of new financial systems and processes
Technical knowledge required:
CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA qualified
Experience within a similar role
Excellent analytical thinking and numerical skills
Previous PE experience preferred
Previous SME experience preferred
Personal skills required.
Solid verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate financial data clearly
Ability to lead on both finance and non-finance matters
Ability to challenge and improve processes and procedures
The curiosity to want to improve and develop reporting.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
