About the role

As a Risk Analyst within Optimised, you will be part of the Energy Trading & Risk team focussed on analysing and reporting fundamental market drivers, delivering risk management solutions for our clients. As a Risk Analyst, you are responsible for identifying, evaluating, and analysing stakeholder risk associated with unpredictability and volatility in the energy commodity and regulatory markets, as well as alignment between energy product choice and delivery of operational strategy.

What you’ll actually do

  • Leading flexible electricity and gas tenders with suppliers and clients through analysis, evaluation, and recommendation
  • Monitoring customer positions and transact on behalf of flexible clients
  • Performing trade entry and maintaining a high standard of data accuracy
  • Working with wider commercial teams to help secure new client business
  • Supporting the development of systems and processes required to deliver market-leading client flexible product solutions
  • Creating and maintaining strong, collaborative supplier and client relationships, overseeing our key contacts and access to a full range of suppliers
  • Managing and overseeing the execution and adherence to risk management strategies
  • Developing and issuing market fundamental reporting
  • Utilising data analytics to report and reporting client trading performance
  • Presenting information on energy markets to sales teams and external clients
  • Supporting innovation within internal and external processes
  • Supporting the invoice validation of the flex portfolio
  • Mentoring new and less experienced team members

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years’ experience within Energy Procurement/Trading & Risk Management
  • Excellent understanding of the UK/European energy industry
  • Proficient in various software, such as Excel and Reuters
  • OJEU experience is not essential but highly desirable
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
