Financial Statement Preparer
A well established company based in Pretoria is seeking a Financial Statement Preparer.
Duties:
Preparation of annual financial statements compliant with either IFRS, IFRS SMEs frameworks
Assisting clients with cosmetic finalization to annual financial statements where required
Preparation of monthly accounting and reporting
Staff development and training of assurance staff and non-assurance staff including:
Planning and scheduling of engagements,
WIP management,
Budgeting,
Client liaison
Engagement finalization
Conducting reviews on the assignments within the scope and requirements of:
International Auditing Standards,
Ethical and independence requirements,
Company Act requirements,
Scheduling of pre-issuance reviews,
Ensuring all matters are cleared prior to sign off,
Roll out of key findings to other engagements, including staff training,
Addressing post issuance findings and facilitating training on key matters.
Endeavour to maintain a technical competency level commensurate of a registered Chartered Accountant and candidate Registered Auditor and maintain required CPD hours.
Take responsibility for the updating and maintenance of the audit software templates as well as staff training on use of audit software.
Conducting technical research and advising fellow staff on matters relating to auditing and assurance and financial reporting.
Assisting the company in fostering a positive and professional work environment within the company and the audit teams conducive to learning and development.
Calculation of Tax Packs (Income Tax and deferred tax calculations)

Requirements:
- BComm Accounting or CTA
- Remain registered as an AGA for the duration of employment.
- Attend such training and CPD courses to enable the employee to remain registered as an AGA SA
