Astute’s Renewables team is exclusively partnered with Balance Power, a company committed to supporting the UK with their green initiative by continuing to develop renewable energy generation projects. They are looking to recruit a Commercial Analyst to join their growing team based in St Helens.

The strategically important Commercial Analyst role comes with a salary up to 45,000, company bonus, on-site parking, private healthcare, private pension and flexible working.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Commercial you will:

* Develop comprehensive financial models
* Manage and update data-books
* Facilitate collaboration and coordination between departments
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and currency
* Integrate external modelling data and maintain relevant industry data points
* Foster relationships with financing sources, investors, and other stakeholders to gather cost of capital data and explore additional opportunities
* Assist the team in evaluating model sensitivities and ensuring financial benchmarks are met
* Collaborate with Operations and Process Teams to incorporate commercial considerations into all opportunities
* Identify and implement commercially driven improvements to maximise the current portfolio
* Understand and manage Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to enhance project IRRs as directed by the Head of Commercial
* Stay informed about market trends in technology and Real-Time Markets (RTM), providing insights and updates to the Head of Commercial

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* Experience in a commercial, financial or accountancy role would be a strong advantage
* Degree qualified Chartered Accountant / Chartered Financial Analyst or similar field of study
* Demonstrable understanding of financial and commercial modelling
* Demonstrable understanding of PPAs
* Ability to use accountancy and analysis software and MS programs such as Excel

* A starting salary up to 45,000 pa
