Controllers ensure that the Firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. Controllers also ensure that the Firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.
YOUR IMPACT
We are looking for an individual to join our Client Assets function. Responsibilities and scope of role will include the governance, oversight and partnership across all revenue and other divisions such as, Legal, Compliance and Technology to ensure adherence to UK FCA Client Assets Rules and equivalent rules in other EMEA jurisdictions. The role offers opportunities to enhance understanding of various business offerings.
OUR IMPACT
The Client Assets team is responsible for ensuring compliance with UK FCA Client Asset regulations and other equivalent regulations in EMEA. They are responsible for the daily client money lock up calculation, custody asset segregation and analysis of client balances across a broad range of business areas, regulatory governance mechanisms and reporting within the various regulated entities. The team also are responsible for partnering with business analysis and implementation teams, driving forward various programs and initiatives, providing operational oversight of Client Assets rule compliance, improving risk & control frameworks, meeting commercial initiatives, and liaising with regulators.
HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
Responsibilities include the following:
  • Manage the investigation, reporting and remediation of Client Assets Rule breaches.
  • Coordinate between impacted Operations and Engineering teams and Legal, Compliance and senior management on Client Assets issues.
  • Enhance and maintain current CASS risk assessment and control framework across all FCA regulated entities.
  • Review operational processes to identify client assets touchpoints and evaluate controls in place to adhere to UK FCA CASS rules.
  • Participate in the implementation of new processes and controls in response to rule changes and new business.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of monitoring and testing capabilities.
  • Engagement with external CASS auditors and submission of deliverables and audit evidence, to demonstrate and support compliance with CASS requirements.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with working knowledge of UK CASS regulations preferably in the banking industry.
  • Expertise in CASS 6, 7 and 8 would be advantageous.
  • Ability to dig into the detail of Operations and Engineering processes to fully understand issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Experience of supervisory responsibilities (i.e. reviewing issues and acting as the initial point of escalation, etc.)
  • Demonstration of organisational, prioritisation and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage various deliverables concurrently throughout the day, within deadlines.
  • A self-starter who proactively liaises with other teams to close issues.
  • Experience of low-code development skills and tooling would also be highly advantageous.
  • Educated to Degree level.
