How You'll Make an Impact
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to support the business leaders with developing client relationships and providing a value-add service and insight for their clients. This is a full-time role with a 4-day working week (32 hours per week)
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Building long-term relationships with external clients, being their main point of contact, and ensuring that they receive the best standard of service possible.
- Providing clients with meaningful commentary and insight on their business' performance.
- Analysing variances, trends, and commercial data to understand associated risks and opportunities.
- Delivering regular KPI and flash reporting relevant to the hospitality sector (i.e., sales trends, channels, labour utilisation, customer segmentation, product types, cost of sales, etc.).
- Supporting clients with supply chain analysis to optimize spend.
- Overseeing the final 'check and balance' of accurate and timely monthly accounts with support from a team of Management Accountants.
- Proactively delivering ad-hoc projects, client requests, and reporting requirements.
- Optimising and simplifying, where possible, the current financial processes and procedures.
- Overseeing schedule accuracy, you'll have ultimate responsibility for these schedules. This is monthly and will vary by client and for more complex clients, it could be up to 10-20% of the role.
- Submitting VAT returns is something you'll need to do end-to-end to start until the team at Synergy has the capacity to start taking it. For each client, it shouldn't take more than a few hours to do each quarter. Once Synergy takes it, and they're just reviewing, it should be considerably less.
- Liaising with Auditors & Stats & Tax accountants is an annual piece of work for each client that you'll be heavily involved in. You would be the point person and lead the work to be done.

- Strong stakeholder management skills and a confident communicator.
- Ability to see the big picture and sense-check for errors or problems after the accounting tasks are completed.
- A customer-centric focus with the ability to maintain and develop client relationships.
- A high level of IT literacy, with the ability to pick up new ERP systems quickly.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills. Lookups and Pivot tables are essential, Macros are desirable.
- A self-starter that can work autonomously and remotely, whilst working with a collaborative team.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
