You will be working within the Credit Risk Management (CRM) unit of the Solvency & Financial Risk Management (SFRM) department. Are you ready to become an integral part of specialized team responsible for oversight of the SR Group's non-insurance financial sector and country level credit risk accumulations as well as political risks?

About the Team
Credit and political risks are prevalent across the Swiss Re Group activities, e.g., investment strategies of Asset Management; underwriting activities of Credit & Surety and Life & Health; and credit counterparty risks embedded in structured transactions and corporate finance activities (custodial, banking, and derivatives counterparties).
As part of CRM, the Banks, Country & Political Risk team identifies, measures, monitors and controls credit default and migration and political risks and ensures that company's credit and political risk profiles are clear to management and appropriate relative to our risk appetite. Team members are in New York, London, Zurich and Bangalore and work in a synchronized manner, often to meet established goals.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:
- Quantitative and qualitative risk management activities involving the financial sector, especially banks, and sovereigns as well as country level aggregates.
- Support monitoring the economic, financial, and political risk developments in the 180+ markets where the Group is at risk.
- Contribute to the creation of analytical and risk management tools to enhance the team's efficiency and value added.
- Participate in specific team and cross-functional projects, including scenario analyses and Swiss Re senior management reports.
- Coordinate with other Group functions such as Underwriting, Asset Management, Treasury, and IT to promote prudent risk taking and maintain Swiss Re's financial stability.

- A degree in engineering, mathematics, or finance. A professional designation like CFA or FRM is a plus.
- Excellent IT technical skills with demonstrated data analysis skills in MS Excel and VBA as well as R and Power BI.
- A minimum of three to five years' experience in a political or credit analytical position is needed. Knowledge of the capital markets and credit-related products, especially derivatives and securities lending/repo, is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Additional language proficiency is useful.
